June 9, 2008
Dear Member,
The club has just completed our 6th
month under the new ownership structure. Thanks to you, the most
supportive members anywhere, our participation in programs and
activities has never been higher, and our membership is growing.
We are pleased to report that the
facility improvements are continuing The new carpeting in the fitness
center has been well received, as has the new photography in the club.
We are currently framing several additional member photographs to hang
throughout the common areas of the Club. Our kids rec room upstairs is
up and running. We have a TV with interactive video games, along with a
foosball table. Our plan is to let this space evolve into what the kids
are most interested in, because, frankly, we are not smarter than 5th
graders!! In the end, we think this will be a good hangout for our
tweens and teens.
We are also very excited to announce
several more Club improvement projects. We have just completed a major
renovation of the pool area. This project included re-surfacing of our
entire deck, painting the coping around the pool, and performing other
needed repairs on the pool itself. The pool is looking fantastic and we
invite you and your friends and family to enjoy it during the upcoming
hot summer months.
You will be seeing a lot of new equipment
in the Fitness Center in the next few weeks. We have placed a
substantial order of free weight equipment that will arrive by the end
of June. We will also be re-designing the fitness center to include a
matted area for stretching and functional exercise. In early Fall, we
will be replacing approximately 25 of our cardiovascular training
machines with brand new equipment.
Lastly this summer, we will also be
resurfacing our indoor tennis courts at the end of July. There will be
approximately a one week down time, but the courts will look and play
great upon completion. More improvements are in the works, and we will
keep you posted as our plans become firm.
On the activities side, our summer
programs are going strong. Participation is way up over previous years,
and it is great to see all of the activity in the club. There is still
plenty of time to sign up for summer camps and swim lessons. Simply
register at the front desk. We also want to spread the word about our
brand new Summer Day Camp. Under the direction of Elysia Carmona, the
camp is off to a great start and is proving to be a
ton of fun for kids and also a great resource for parents.
We are especially happy to see the
tremendous participation in our new Learn Tennis Fast Program.
Over 50 adults, mostly members, are learning the great game of tennis
from the world class TSAC tennis professionals. The next session starts
June 23, and we encourage you to participate. This class is open to non
members, so bring a friend!
Speaking of non-members, we want to
clarify our policy on guests. Our daily guest fee is $15 per guest, for
all guests over the age of seven (there is no guest fee for kids age 7
and under). All guests are required to be accompanied by a member,
register at the desk, and pay the guest fee (unless they have a guest
pass). It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that your guests are
familiar with the internal operating polices of the Club. A non-member
is entitled to use the club as a daily guest up to two times per month.
This policy is to encourage guests to join, and to not allow a situation
where a guest can use the club on a regular basis as a non-member). We
encourage members to bring your friends as guests. This is the best way
for the Club to attract new members. In most cases, we will arrange a
guest pass for your friend if they are interested in membership. This
must be pre-arranged by calling Eileen or Cindy in our membership
department at 479-3111.
Having explained our guest policy, we
have enclosed a guest pass for you to bring in a friend this summer!
This pass will expire on July 31, 2008. As
a reminder, the Club always offers you a thank you gift for referring a
new member that joins. This month, that gift is $100 Club Credit!
Should you or your guests have any questions, please call Eileen or
Cindy anytime.
Our Pro Shop, managed by Barb Woodruff,
is beginning to take shape. Within the past couple of weeks, we were
approved as an authorized NIKE dealer. So, look for new NIKE apparel in
the Pro Shop soon. We are also carrying merchandise from Wilson and
Prince. In the meantime, if you or your team is looking for something
specific, please let Barb know. We are happy to place special orders.
And, last but not least, our in-house
‘smoothie chef’ Janet McIntyre and her staff are now blending up fresh
power shakes and fruit smoothies. Also in the café, we are featuring
fresh salads prepared by Catering By Robyn. Outside, Castaway’s
Café is again open for pool side business, with burgers, dogs,
and of course candy and ice cream.
We have been
using the tag line “Vacation at Home This Summer”, and hope that
Tri-State will feel like a vacation to you each and every time you visit
us. It is our pleasure to serve you and we thank you for your
continuing support.
Sincerely,
